Pacific Crest Trail – Day 48 (6 miles)

Pacific Crest Trail – Day 48 (6 miles)

I’m finally back on trail!

I got dropped off by Jamie, a hiking mate, at Tuolumne Medow.

I’m a little nervous about attempting this section again. What happens if I don’t make it? There is one way to find out.

I start walking down the river and quickly notice that it has dropped a lot, with the water level about 3-5ft lower than last time.

What a great sign!

Pretty quickly I run into a couple of Germans, who I have not seen since San Jacinto 800 miles ago.

We walked down to the bridge that crosses the river. Again it has changed dramatically. From a crossing I was slightly nervous about, now I hardly had to get my feel wet.

This is an even better sign! My hopes of getting through rise.

We continue walking and make camp as the last rays of sun disappear.
I cannot belive I’m back on the PCT!
