Winter Appalachian Trail (Day 0)

Winter Appalachian Trail Thru Hike (Day 0)
I’m heading to Springer Mountain for the start of my winter Thru Hike and the start of my year Triple Crown.
Adventure definitely lies ahead over the next 10 months as I hike 7,700 miles on three of US’s best long trails (AT, PCT and CDT). I definitely expect this will be the hardest, most amazing journey of my life.

Thank you to @colahikes @travelerbytrail@walkeatsleep for the 4 hour drive to Springer! If you get the chance, check these guys out. They’ve got a lot of hiking planned for 2018.

I would also like to thank @thunderboltsportswear for decking me out in some of the best clothing for the mountains. @Hyperlite_mointain_gear for providing a Windrider 2400 and @vargofor the latest pocket cleats.
