Winter Appalachian Trail – Introduction

Winter Appalachian Trail – Introduction

Tomorrow I start my winter Appalachian Trail Thru Hike. Here is the 10 pound (4.5kg) of gear I will be carrying along the way, with an expected finish date of April 15.

A run down of the big items:

I have a 10F (-12C) hoodless sleeping bag, with a 45F (7C) synthetic overquilt. This gives an overall rating of -10F (-23C). Made by @dantimmerman. I have chosen a synthetic overquilt to limit the affect of condensation on my down sleeping bag.

I will be using 4 season Solomid tarp by @mountainlaureldesigns.

I will be carrying it all in a waterproof @hyperlite_mountain_gear Windrider 2400.
